The Need For Internet Speed

The world we live in seems to be all about speed. We love fast cars, fast service and above all else, fast computers.

As the industry moves on the computers are moving with speeds that we could have only dreamed of back in the old days and this is all due to the customer demand for such things.

With the need for fast computers comes the need for the fastest internet speed available. The course of the internet has changed drastically over the years.

What first seemed like a fad that would eventually fade into the horizon has now become a part of every day life. Most people in the world state that they spend at least four hours a day on an internet connection and that number is increasing with each passing year.

It is no surprise that the internet speed needed to increase. That is why it is so necessary for us to have choices in this world. In the early days of the net we had only one choice for internet speed and that was dial up.

This was a slow and cumbersome movement to surf the web. People found it nearly impossible to fully grasp all the content that they wanted because they would spend hours waiting for page loads and free connections as such.

So we now have a wide variety of choices when it comes to internet speed. With that we are going to examine these choices and find out which one is right for you.

With each passing year things change and we see that new things are coming about. It is important that we keep abreast of these changes and then allow ourselves to flow with them so that we can stay current.

Dial Up

Of all the internet speeds on the market the dial up is the slowest. This is the very first form of the connection and it is still widely used by those that are trying to save some money. As such the price of this connection is low.

Many companies are offering a connection through dial up at less than ten dollars a month. This is a low cost alternative for the hobby surfer only.

Cable Internet

When it comes to internet speed the cable internet was the one that made it happen. With speeds that move along more than fifty times faster than dial up people have found that it is posisble to move across the web with ease.

Downloads and uploads are faster than ever and the connection is always available. The cable internet is also a more reliable version of the internet.

Fiber Optics

The newest kid on the block is the fiber optic internet. This is a fast and highly thought of service in this world right now. The main issue that is surrounding this service is the lack of competition in the US.

That means that few companies are offering this internet speed and as such the price per month is still very high.
