The End Of Free Internet

The idea of getting something for free is going to be very appealing to a lot of people. However, you can see that the old say of there is no such thing as a free lunch is more true now than ever.

If you think that you are getting something for free you need to step back and wonder how the company is able to provide this. That is the common issue that many people are not thinking about.

This is the case with the free internet. The free internet service providers came about during the big boom, when it seemed like everyone was getting involved in the computer age.

As such there was a need for something that was more affordable then the standard internet service charge. That is where the free internet service providers came about and they made a big impression. The results of this free internet boom were mixed.

You have to see that this was not a good idea to start with and in many cases companies failed before even getting off the ground. As such many were left without internet service and struggled to find a way to make a change.

This also left a good many people in a place where they did not want to be, right in the middle of the failure. The fall of the dot com industry was really the first step in the failure of free internet.

When these fledgling companies came about reporting incomes that were beating most larger companies the race was on to make sure that people could get a piece of the pie.

However, the bubble soon burst and the bulk of the companies were out of business within a few months. Free internet was the same.

The Concept

The main concept behind free internet was advertising. The companies that started the rush were basing their company strategy on the television principle. Television networks are free to watch and are supported by advertising from commericials.

Free internet companies applied the same concept to the internet and made the service free but with a lot of bulky ads and the like.

The Downfall

The real downfall was that people did not like having to look at all the ads when they were surfing the web. Many sought ways to kill the ads for the free internet and hence surf the web outside of the normal channels.

This meant that the companies that were paying the free internet companies for ad space were not getting their ads viewed like they should have been.

The Outcome

The final outcome saw the fall of most of the companies. A few that had grown with the advertising dollars managed to stay afloat and start to offer pay per connection services.

Even the giants of the industry of free internet ended all of their free internet service to make up for the devastating losses that they had suffered through this difficult time. As such you must pay for internet in this world now.
