The internet has come a long way from the early days. In the beginning only the wealthy and such could afford the connection costs and the whole of the web was still in infancy.

The speed of cable internet is really the main issue at hand. With speeds that are reaching fifty times faster then the fastest dial up you can see where people are thrilled with the cable internet.

You are able to surf without long waits and downloads are fast and simple. Those who have had a taste of the cable internet speed are not willing to return to the dial up networks for anything.

No Connecting

Unlike the dial up companies, the cable internet does not require a connection. In this you are always connected to the internet and there is no longer a need to wait for something to dial in.

You are able to start surfing the web as soon as you open the browser window or start the email program. Again, this goes to the speed and the viability of the cable internet system.

No Phone Line

Then you can see that the cable internet does not require phone line support. You are connecting through the same lines that you would normally receive cable television through. So you are no longer tying up the phone when you want to surf the web.

Those all important emergency phone calls can get through when you are still visiting your favorite websites. The only true downfall of the cable internet is the cost.

You will be paying about two to three times what you would for normal dial up service. In this you have to be sure that you are able to afford such a cost.
